In August, 2010, CLE students from all over the country joined together to participate in the Habitat for Humanity Collegiate Challenge in Georgetown County, South Carolina. Below are brief bios about each participant and their journal entries recorded during this experience.
My name is Ryan and I am a native of Austin. I have been attending Austin Community College pursuing my AutoCAD degree. Some of my favorite activities to do in my free time are watching television, playing video games and reading graphic novels.
My name is Ethan Mendick and I am 19 years old. I am a musician and singer and I enjoy writing my own music and lyrics. I like to draw and to create cartoon versions of rock musicians. I’m curious about other cultures, especially their food and music. I volunteer for a dog rescue organization called PAW- Partnership for Animal Welfare. My dad and I do it almost every Saturday.
My name is Jen. I am from Cincinnati, Ohio. I like to hang out with friends and work out. I am looking forward to meeting new people on the Habitat trip.
I am with CLE-Austin. I am a musician and I am also am an artist. I am really looking forward to making a difference in my life by helping people in need. I like music, art, history, animals, and all kinds of stuff.
My name is AJ Bowser. I was born in Muncie, Indiana on September 4th, 1990. I enjoy video games, reading, and acting. Currently, I live in Denver, Colorado.
Hi. My name is Erika. I do art and I read books really, really well. I love to help people and I am very excited to be going on this trip. I have Aspergers Syndrome and have been in treatment for it for seven years. I have been in CLE for three years and I have improved quite a bit. I hope to get to know everyone's strengths and weaknesses very well on this trip.
